About SEN Trust Southend

Every child and young person deserves an education built around who they are, not despite their needs, but with real expertise in meeting them. That’s what SEN Trust Southend exists to do.

We’re a Multi-Academy Trust of four special schools: Kingsdown School, Lancaster School, St Nicholas School and The St Christopher School, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities across Southend-on-Sea. Formed in September 2017, the Trust built on years of close partnership between schools that already knew the value of working together.

Each school keeps its own identity, ethos and character, with its own Headteacher and Local Governing Body. What the Trust brings is scale: shared expertise, shared resources, shared training, and a relentless focus on driving standards up across all four schools together.

Strategy, vision and direction sit with the Trust Board and Members, led by Chief Executive Officer Dan Woodman.
